Five-Star Recruit Nate Ament Visits Shooting Touch Rwanda Courts
August 11, 2025- Shooting Touch was honored to welcome top high school basketball player and Rwandan-American Nate Ament to our courts in Kayonza, Rwanda. Nate, ranked #4 in the U.S. Class of 2025 and an incoming University of Tennessee player, is projected as a top-five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. His visit marked a powerful moment for Shooting Touch, bringing global attention to our mission of using basketball to advance health, education, and opportunity for youth and women in Rwanda.
"Having Nate Ament — arguably the most influential figure in Rwandan basketball to date — here with us, embracing our ‘bigger than basketball’ mission, meant the world to our team and our community," said Chloe Rothman, Shooting Touch’s Director of International Strategy and Programming.
Shooting Touch extended a huge thank you to Nate and his family for joining us and inspiring the next generation of Rwandan athletes both on and off the court. From celebrating his heritage with extended family to supporting free health screenings offered alongside games, Nate’s visit reinforced our commitment to holistic impact through sport.
