Program Description:

Throughout  inner cities of the Greater Boston Area, food deserts and lack of education on proper nutrition are a major concern. Diabetes and obesity, especially amongst African American and latina females are a major concern.

Shooting Touch partnered with Community Servings to offer proactive, hands on and educational experiences to eating the right way. On top of educational lessons that include sports nutrition, disease prevention and hydration, our girls are able to cook and eat meals that they have prepared themselves, in hopes that this will encourage participants to eat healthier.

Program Goals:

  1. Increased knowledge on healthy eating choices

Program Outcomes:

Knowledge on Nutrition Pre and Post Lectures

In 2018, the Shooting Touch Boston participants underwent 33 hours of interactive and informative nutrition lessons. The girls were tested before hand and afterwards and saw a positive percent change of 69%.
