JOB TITLE: Operations & Events Intern | Shooting Touch
Shooting Touch is an international sport-for-development organization that uses the power of sport to educate and empower at-risk youth, women and their communities to live healthier lives. Since its inception in 2007, the organization has impacted over 30,000 youth and women worldwide through its innovative, outcome-driven programming. Today the organization leverages the sport of basketball to extend health services and health education in both Boston and in Rwanda.
Shooting Touch is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Operations & Events Intern. The Operations & Events Intern will report to and work closely with the Director of Operations (DOO) to carry out Shooting Touch’s day-to-day operations, including but not limited to marketing, donor management, and executing our fundraising events.
The position will be based in Hyde Park, MA and the ideal candidate will be able to join us at least three (3) days per week for an entire semester (Winter Semester: January; Spring Semester: February - May; Summer Semester: June - August; Fall Semester: September - December). This internship is unpaid and the candidate must be eligible to receive college credit.
Work with the DOO to maintain the organization’s CRM system
Assist in managing all social media outlets, e-communications (including our monthly newsletter and quarterly donor update), and general website edits
Draft press releases for local, national, and worldwide media outlets
Assist in carrying out communication and marketing plans for fundraising initiatives, the Boston program, and the Rwanda program; ensure that all communication and marketing is carried out in keeping with the organization’s values, mission, vision, and plan
Work with the DOO to carry out the planning and execution of the organization’s fundraising and special events
Complete industry research as needed, including but not limited to marketing, potential awards/recognition, and overall operations best practices
Support the Director of Programming, Boston Program Director and Rwanda Program Directors for any additional tasks
