Eoin Walsh is from Brookline, Massachusetts and is a Theology and Psychology Double Major in the Honors Program of Loyola University Maryland. Committed to excellence, Eoin strives to make a positive impact in the lives of all those involved with Shooting Touch. Eoin has played sports his entire life (including 4 in High School) and as a teenager, was selected for the Provincial Academy as part of the Irish National Basketball Team. Eoin attended Brookline High School, and among other activities, played for the the BHS Men’s Basketball Program for all 4 years. His BHS Basketball career consisted of an undefeated season freshman year (21-0), winning the conference title multiple times, playing in the TD Garden, and a successful Senior year. Athletically, Eoin is now training for the Baltimore marathon.
Seth Altman grew up in a small town in Massachusetts called Belmont where he amassed an impressive athletic career. Seth ran varsity track and cross country and played varsity basketball throughout his four year career at Belmont High School. He is currently a junior at the University of Miami (FL), and pursuing a double major in finance and marketing with a minor in psychology. Seth is currently serving as the marketing intern for Shooting Touch for the summer of 2017. Through his course load and class experiences, Seth is interested in conducting market research in order to better analyze how to market products and organizations to target segments. He hopes to use his business knowledge and experience in order to generate creative marketing content to disseminate to sponsors, donors, and target audiences with the goal of increasing Shooting Touch’s brand image and increasing awareness for the organization. Seth has worked at a youth summer sports camp for the past four summers, and hopes to apply his love for the game of basketball and helping children stay active and healthy to his Shooting Touch internship. Outside of the classroom, Seth’s hobbies include watching sports games with friends, relaxing on the beach, and investing in stocks. Seth’s favorite athletes are Tom Brady and Tim Duncan.
Graphic Design Intern
Aly is a senior college student from Miriam College in the Philippines. Currently taking up her second degree, Applied Arts major in Visual Design, she has studied and practiced photography, typography, and graphic design.
From her first degree, Child Development and Education major in Special Education, she taught preschool children to develop the necessary skills for their personal and social growth as a licensed teacher in Raya School.
Much like Shooting Touch, she too believes in the power of basketball in educating and empowering at-risk youth. She wishes to take what she has learned from Shooting Touch back to the Philippines and starts a change of her own
Social Media Intern
Victoria (Tori) Deems, from Braintree, Massachusetts, is a rising junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, majoring in marketing, minoring in Gender Studies, and pursuing a certificate of public policy. As the social media marketing intern for Shooting Touch, Tori seeks to connect with supporters and donors of Shooting Touch, as well as like-minded companies and nonprofits through different social media platforms. She keeps our followers updated on events, our progress in Boston as well as Rwanda, and facilitates an online discussion of ways to get involved with your own community for change. Tori has a passion for social justice, animals, and food.
Graphic Design Intern
Neftali Torres is a Graphic Design Major from Umass Dartmouth that loves design, sports, and music. He was born in Puerto Rico but raised in Massachusetts where the only family members that were around was his mother, father, and sister. Thats all the motivation he needed to pursue a degree and push forward. Although the start was rocky in his early scholastic years, Nef managed to complete a College Now program that fully admitted him into the university. Now fully admitted he began to work on his craft and started to pave his way through life. With some minimal financial help and a truckload of home cook meals every month or so Nef has finally completed what he once saw as unattainable. Nef, Graduating Class of 2017. With this accomplishment he is now a mentor and a role model for local kids at a project called Sandy Heights who have seen him start where they are. Basketball is the main outlet for these youth and it's still the way Nef reconnects and re-affirms their relationships. Because at the end of the day it's all about the buckets!
